Copying Notes and Histories in Act CRM

Question: An Employee has left a company, how do I copy his history to another contact?  Answer: It is easy and it also works with Notes as well, watch this brief video

Hi, ladies and gentlemen, I am answering a question that I saw posted in a group of act users. And the question was, how do you take the history from a contact that has left it from a company or left a company, or maybe gone out of business or whatever, how do you take all that history and apply it to another contact? And there’s actually a very, very simple solution that a lot of people don’t know about it. I want to show it to you. So here is all my contact information right here, and I have a lot of stuff in here. There’s just a lot of garbage for things that have been deleted and some different histories. Well, what I’m going to do is I’m going to click on the very first history right here. I’m now going to hold the shift key down and also the control key on my keyboard.

So shift control, and then also on your keyboard. There’s an N key, not N as in Nancy, but N E N D. And I’m going to hit that as well. So shift control end, and what it did is it selected everything. Now the keyboard shortcut to copy something is control. And then the letter C is in cat. So control C. So I just did control C on my keyboard. Let me just go to another contact. Here’s a contact and I’m just going to click right down here in this white area. And now I’m going to use the keyboard shortcut to paste, which is control V as in Victor, and look what happens. So I was able to take all that history from one and put it onto another. Now it’s still in the previous one right here. It’s still all there, because all I did was copy it, but it’s a very simple solution for taking that information and sharing it. Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Tony Horowitz.
